Tick bite survey

Purpose

Thank you for helping BADA-UK by completing our questionnaire. The questions can be answered by anyone who is visiting this site. Even if you have never found a tick on yourself, we want to find out if you know how to recognise one, and if you know how a tick should be removed.

If you have been bitten by a tick, we want to know all about the circumstances of the bite, how the tick was removed, and what happened afterwards. If you don’t remember being bitten, but you suspect you have a tick-borne disease, we want to know.

Your answers will help us to better determine the level of understanding and awareness, regarding ticks and tick-borne diseases, amongst UK residents. They will also give us a better indication as to the extent of tick-borne diseases, primarily throughout the UK and Europe. The data we collate will then be used to help us further refine the information we provide to the public and, once a sufficient sample of surveys has been received, we intend to publish the statistical results.

Instructions

Fields marked with * are optional. Your name and address is not compulsory, however, providing these details will create more credible data. These details will not be used for any purpose other than this survey without your permission.
