Borreliosis and Associated Diseases Awareness UK
Calendula flowers have been cultivated and used medicinally since the 12th century. Calendula is used in many products to treat cuts, grazes and burns because of its antiseptic properties. It is also used for its soothing, anti-inflammatory, astringent and detoxifying properties.
As well as Calendula having many medical uses, it is also used as an insect repellent and can be particularly effective against tick attachment as a natural alternative to chemical repellents.
Our natural organic marigold oil (Calendula officinalis) may be used on skin or it may also be used on pets, and in conjunction with veterinary prescribed tick- and flea-control products.
N.B. Calendula oil has repellent properties but it is not an insecticide / acaricide. Whilst it helps to discourage ticks, some attachment may still occur and therefore regular checks for attached ticks should routinely be made.
This product comes in a 45ml dropper bottle for dispensing small amounts for topical application to skin or fur. It can also be used on leather footwear or on clothing but be advised that it may cause discolouration, and on plastic or rubber based materials it may cause perishing.
