Welcome to BADA-UK
The BADA-UK website is endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).
Andrew Griffiths, Acting Director of Policy, CIEH says, "The CIEH takes the issue of tick-borne disease in the United Kingdom very seriously. According to evidence presented in 2005 to the World Health Organisation's project on Urban Pests, ticks are responsible for the transmission of more cases of human disease than any other arthropod vectors in North America and Europe. We therefore welcome the BADA-UK initiative to raise awareness of these issues."
Interviewees desperately required
We desperately need volunteers that have personal experience of ticks and tick-borne disease to be involved in newspaper articles and radio / TV interviews. If you have suffered from a tick-borne disease, or you care for someone that does, contact us. Your help would be invaluable.
BADA-UK on the Road Again
Our team of volunteers is touring various shows again this year and will be on hand to offer advice. Our next venue for 2008 is the Scottish Game Fair, which is held in the grounds of Scone Palace in Perthshire, on Friday 4th - Sunday 6th of July.. Find out about this show and other events.
Watch Out. Ticks Are About
The weather is warming up and ticks are becoming more active. Make sure that you are prepared, and can practice safe tick-removal by carrying a tick remover and antiseptic wipes. Purchase a tick-remover.
We Need Your Help!
We strive to help prevent people and their pets falling needlessly ill with tick-borne diseases. We desperately need funds to continue to provide free literature, to exhibit at venues across the UK, and to carry out our various projects. If you can spare a couple of pounds per month, why not consider setting up a standing order so that we can predict our income and plan projects around it?
