Kevin Robertson ran the Dunfermline Half Marathon for BADA-UK
Kevin Robertson, an Electrical Engineer at Atkins Edinburgh, completed the Dunfermline Half Marathon to raise funds for BADA-UK. Kevin, ran wearing a massive "Fatman" suit. The costume caused great excitement amongst the spectating children who cheered him on and offered him juice to drink. Kevin completed the run in 2 hours 17 minutes, which is pretty good going for a man in a fat suit!
Tick Prevention Week, 7th - 13th April 2008
Our annual campaign,"Tick Prevention Week" begins on April 7th. It raises public awareness at a crucial time; the weather is warmer, ticks are more active, and people get out to enjoy the spring weather. The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health endorses Tick Prevention Week.

BADA-UK attends meeting in Scottish Parliament

BADA-UK Director / Chair, Wendy Fox, her husband Andrew Fox, and charity secretary, Craig Coady, were today invited to attend a meeting in the Scottish Parliament. The meeting, chaired by the Minister for the Environment, Michael Russell, was called to discuss the impact of ticks and the diseases that they transmit. A range of representatives from organisations involved in countryside management and public health were present.
