Volunteering for BADA-UK
There are a number of ways in which you can help us as a charity. BADA-UK is run solely by volunteers; we have no paid staff. We therefore welcome any assistance. Whether you can offer time on a regular basis, or just once in a while, it could help us greatly.
If you have specialised skills
Whether it be something you do professionally or as a hobby, you may be able to use your skills to help us. Here are some examples of skills that are needed regularly or from time to time:
Database creation
Data analysis
Graphic design
Media skills
Proof reading
Language translators
Web authoring
All of these skills, and more, are useful to us and your occasional or regular help could be invaluable. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer some of your time to help us.
If you enjoy meeting and talking to people
Whether or not you have professional skills, if you like meeting new people and chatting, you could perhaps help out at one of our UK-wide exhibits. We travel to various venues throughout the spring and summer and we may be within reasonable travelling distance to you. We are happy to provide training so that you can come along and help us in raising public awareness. Contact us if you can spare some time to help out.
Media interviews
We are always looking for volunteers that have personal experience of
ticks and tick-borne disease to be involved in radio and TV interviews.
Whether you have experience with ticks through land- or animal-management,
or whether you have suffered from a tick-borne disease or care for someone
that does, you could help. Contact us if you
would like to be involved in a TV or radio programme.
