Helo all. My name is Holly and I'm from Essex. I'm 23 and a journalist, and before about a year ago I'd never run further that the end of the road (and even that was a struggle).
I haven't had Lyme but I've seen the devastating effect it can have on individuals and families from seeing people I know suffering from it.
I wanted to raise money for the charity because I think it's important that, with the disease becoming more and more prevalent in the UK, public awareness of it increases. The fact that you can get Lyme disease anywhere - in your back garden, walking the dog in the woods - I think is scary; it's not a disease that you can avoid through lifestyle choices like diet and exercise, you just have to have the bad luck that it comes and finds you.
From what I've seen the most important thing for anyone suffering with Lyme is that they need to know they're not alone; getting a diagnosis is difficult and people can feel misunderstood and isolated, and it's important that education of the disease increases so that there is a support network in place for anyone going through it, and this is what BADA is trying to do.

which is a registered charity which provides a facility for making an

if you have one. If you donate via CAF they will also give you the option
