Kirsty's Great Glen Way Sponsored Walk - 26th to 29th August 2011

Update - funds raised:
Kirsty MacCallum completed the Great Glen Way raising £1.150.00. Our
sincere thanks go to Kirsty and everyone who sponsored her. Our thanks
also go to BT for their corporate sponsorship of Kirsty.
Kirsty MacCallum (21) is about to start her fourth year at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen for her honours year in Law. Kirsty originates from Tore, in the Black Isle, but lives in Aberdeen during the academic year.
Kirsty says, "I realise BADA-UK is completely volunteer run, and as I work in the third sector (social enterprises) during the summer break, I am aware of the difficulties that charities face, especially less well known ones, and the effort that volunteers put in to run such organisations. BADA-UK has supported local people and provided them with help, advice and support. I've seen the devastating effects of Lyme disease and the work the charity does is very important, so I decided to try and help".
About the Challenge
The Great Glen Way runs 79 miles (126km) following the Great Glen (or Glen Mor or Glen Albyn), from Fort William on the Atlantic west coast to Inverness on the North Sea.
The route follows mostly towpaths and woodland tracks, with a few Munroes and Corbetts within reach of the main route.
The walk usually takes five - six days but Kirsty, liking the extra challenge, plans to complete it in four.
Please dig deep and help Kirsty achieve her target for this tough challenge!
